Listen to the Sound While you sit reading this blog today, I want you to click on the link above and relax into the sounds you hear coming from the bowls that sing to our soul. Feel the vibration through your computer or phone, enjoy the tones created to heal and renew as you read on about the sounds that heal us. Today I want to talk about taking care of YOU and not forgetting yourself in everything you do every day. As humans, we need to make sure we are keeping our minds and bodies in balance. After all, if we don’t take care of ourselves, how will we be able to take care of the people in our lives? So, take time for yourself and stop, at least a few times per week, to find a sound that relaxes your mind and brings your body into balance, there is no better remedy than relaxing with sound. Decrease your muscle tension, lower your heartrate and blood pressure, feel calmer, become less anxious, and feel renewed as you lessen stress and begin to think clearer. Lay down or sit for best relaxation results, once the body is fully relaxed, brain function, memory, and our immune system improve. As seasons come and go, we really must remember that we need to remain in balance, just as nature balances winter, spring, summer and fall during magnificent transformations and continuous change. The flow from one season to the next is a rise and fall of intensity, just like our emotions. Keeping calm and centered during these transitions can really help us with clarity and grace. Grace for ourselves and for others. When I want to relax, feel at peace, or meditate on something, I love playing my steel drum and feeling the vibrations from my singing bowl. I play both for a few minutes at the very least, every single day just to feel the peace and calm in the sounds, the sounds are soothing while the playing is meditative. Does music do the same thing for you? What kind of music do you listen to? Have you heard of Tibetan Singing Bowls? Ever played a steel drum? Do you listen to different styles of music, different genres, or do you prefer one style that is maybe nostalgic to you? Whatever it is you listen to, music soothes your soul and feeds your energy in positive ways.
